Hear My Voice is happy to announce the first list of successful applications for the Poetry Relief Fund. After having received 48 applications for the Hear My Voice Poetry Relief Fund in Response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on the creative industry, particularly the poetry sector - with an initial capital of R16 000, Hear My Voice has managed to raise a total of R27 000 through partnerships and public online donations to date, which will be benefiting 25 poets for the 1st season of the livestream series.
The received applications far exceed the amount of money we have raised, so we have paused the open call for new applications for the fund until we have raised enough additional funds to proceed. Other poets who have already applied and have not been mentioned below have been put on a waiting list and will receive first preference. NB: An official re-opening of applications shall be announced.
Thank you to our new partner Poetry Potion for donating R10 000 towards the Poetry Relief Fund as well as all our individual donors and the in-kind support from That Network for PR services. visit our donation page on the website if you also would like to donate to this initiative: http://www.hearmyvoice.co.za/donate .
